Hi, I’m Daniel Hunt, English-born programmer and lover of all things adventurous.
I adore traveling, having visited every continent except South America, and recently moved to Pennsylvania, USA. I also like the fine arts, such as classical music, symphonic band and orchestra performances, and traditional art.
Above all, programming is my passion; the digital world is so dynamic and always stimulating, and I’m always looking forward to the next day. Originally, I used basic Java and PHP, but now the bread and butter of my work is PHP and Python using frameworks such as Laravel and Flask, but I’m always open to and look forward to adopting a new expertise.
My experience is strongest in technologies using PHP along with the Laravel framework, developing with the Gitflow Workflow, and developing on Ubuntu or OSX with a deployment destination of a Linux based machine.

My experience begins with freelance work starting in June 2009 doing small jobs, such as single page sites, and larger jobs, such as real time chats.
My first full-time position was BrokerTech in August 2010, where I develop insurance products using proprietary software.
In September 2011 I earned the title of Junior Developer and Support Head, when I took on the responsibility of managing support distribution and applying solutions to business-critical bugs.
I progressed to become Web Developer and Support Head in August 2012, where I developed software in a LAMP stack environment as part of a layered team.
From September 2013 to December 2015, I was the Lead Web Developer, where I developed and worked with projects in a range of languages and frameworks, specialising in PHP with Laravel and Python with Flask.
Since December 2015, my current position is Platform Migration and Lead Web Developer. I oversee basic systems architecture, manage software modernization, generate tools of cross system migration for both internal and external systems, and develop bespoke web applications.
SpinLeague is a collaborative endeavor in the form of a web app. It is a global online community where users can share statistics and general information regarding spinning tops. Using PHP + Laravel to create the core backend and public API.
I made PostalCache to display some basic skills using a variety of technologies. The project itself is designed as a tool to help people manage their money.
I designed GitDown to combine git repositories with a Markdown parser for PHP which supports the full CommonMark spec.
SimpleAPI is a simple and easy to use API wrapper for laravel, with the ability to include throttling and caching.
FreshdeskReporting is a way of creating and reporting on your freshdesk tickets.
